So I had that Saturday when you get up, grab coffee with and friend, and then drive all over town looking for Yard Sales. Not trying to dork out, but it was the most fun I have had in a while. I don’t know what it is, but I just love looking through peoples old things.
I was on the hunt for a new Bar Cart, because my “bar” is getting a little too crowded…with nips…I figured if I got a whole cart, it would force me to spend money on a whole bottle of alcohol. My friend was on the hunt for a Hope Chest (I didn’t know what this was either, don’t worry). We didn’t exactly find what we were looking for. But I found these great wooden stools for my kitchen that were already sanded for only $5!! Hellllooo DIY project!
I had a very light green paint hanging around to use. It was a great choice because it gives my mostly green kitchen, a little pop of light color!
I did one layer of paint. I didn’t put a lot of paint on the brush so it would give the chairs a rustic worn down look. Another trick to give any art project this look of worn down, is to take a paper towel and slowly drag it through the new paint that you just applied. It will take away a little at a time!
