I have been a total slacker on Rookie Party and I am the first to admit it. The holidays kicked my butt, and now that I am out of my sugar cookie coma, I am ready to tackle New Years. I have never hosted a New Year’s party because my house is always still a disaster from the holiday, but this year I decided to have a pre-party where a few of my friends will come over, we will have some light snacks, drinks, and then go out. So, because I know that the holidays can be tough on the wallet, and the last thing many people want to do is spend more money on a night where you count down to a new year of mystery (but what about the champagne?!), I have come up with a few simple cheap tricks if you want to add a little more jazz to your New Year’s eve.
Pop Fizz Clink. A few of my favorite sounds. I always see these gorgeous signs that say “Cheers” or “Celebrate”, but when I look at the price tag, the last thing I want to do is celebrate…so, like any DIY’er, I took it upon myself to make my own. Mine was a little smaller than the signs that I normally see, but it was the perfect size for my (brand new) bar cart. I didn’t need anything flashy, so this was perfect.
I drew out the phrase that I wanted. Of course you can do any phrase that you want, but I thought this one would be appropriate to keep on the cart long term.
After cutting them out, I used ModPodge and glitter to give it the New Year’s feel. It’s simple enough to do right before a party, and cheap enough to celebrate 🙂
